A New Take on an Old Classic

Hello Everyone!

Happy Saturday. I apologize for missing last week's blog post. I recently moved back to Chicago for another semester of school, and I've been pretty busy settling back in and getting started with my classes. However, today's blog is not about Chicago or my new classes, it's about something more exciting. Yesterday, I posted a music video that's a new take on my song "Wild Life". I'm very excited about this video, it was done by Sarah Jo Carré, a film student in Colorado.

I met Sarah last October when she came to visit my friend, and roommate, Martha. Martha and Sarah have been best friends for over five years, so I had heard a decent amount about her. Sarah sounded like genuinely one of the coolest human beings I could have the honor of meeting. Not only is she incredibly talented in all aspects of the film industry, but she spent her first semester of college in France, took time off to be a wrangler on a ranch in Arizona, is one of the most hardworking people I know, and is a badass woman who takes no prisoners. Knowing all of this, I was a little intimidated to meet her, but once we got talking it was like we had been friends for years. The weekend was a blast and later led to Martha, Sarah, and I talking about one of Sarah's upcoming projects where she had to choose a song to make a music video about. I joked she should use one of my songs, and Sarah took the idea and ran with it. I know nothing about making music videos, so I was grateful to give Sarah full creative liberty. She worked for months with an amazing staff to create a gorgeous video that I think adds an interesting new perspective to "Wild Life". Sarah also submitted the video to some film festivals, and at the beginning of the video, you can see the awards it won.

You can find out more about Sarah's upcoming projects on her Instagram and Youtube Channel. With that, I leave you with Sarah's take on "Wild Life". I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
